Nagoya University Interdisciplinary Frontier Fellowship
名古屋大学融合フロンティアフェローシップは、名古屋大学博士課程に進む学生が博士後期課程3年間を通して、深い学識と卓越した能力を身につけ、その経験で培った様々な力を博士学位取得後に社会の多様な場で発揮して欲しいという思いのもとに作られた研究と生活を両面からサポートする制度です。
この制度は文部科学省「科学技術イノベーション創出に向けた大学フェローシップ創設事業」と名古屋大学により実施され、参加する博士人材は我が国の継続的な学術の深化や次世代の科学技術・イノベーションの創出を担い、活力ある社会の構築に寄与することを期待されています。
学生には自身の研究を課題解決に昇華するトランスファラブルスキルや情報発信力、プログラミング技術の習得、博士課程学生や価値観の異なるメンター、さらにはロールモデルとなる大学院の修了生の交流など様々な機会が設けられます。
対象分野としては「アジア未来創造」、「情報・AI」、「量子科学」および「マテリアル」の4分野があり、いずれの分野でも様々なフェローシップ活動に対して最大3年間フェローシップ奨励金として毎月の研究専念支援金と研究費(年単位)が支給されます。
Nagoya University (hereinafter referred to as “the University”) aims to foster doctoral human resources who can advance the interdisciplinary frontier, create future knowledge, implement it in society, and play an active role globally. The Nagoya University Interdisciplinary Frontier Fellowship (hereinafter referred to as “the Project”) is an academic system designed to support both the research and the livelihood of students who enroll in the doctoral program of the University in the hope that they will acquire considerable knowledge and outstanding abilities during the three years of the doctorate program and will demonstrate their wide-ranging faculties cultivated through their experience in various fields in society after obtaining their doctoral degree. Through this system, the University expects that successful doctoral graduates will contribute to the continued deepening of science and technology in Japan, the creation of next generation science, technology, and innovation, and the construction of a vibrant society.

博士課程学生を全力支援！～博士課程学生への経済支援について～
Full support for doctoral students! ～Financial Support for Doctoral Students
現在の日本の閉塞的な状況を打破すべく、イノベーションを創出し、世界的な社会課題を解決に導く原動力として博士人材に注目が集まっており、博士人材には、一つの学術分野の深化に留まらず、専門の違うさまざまな知を結集して「総合知」を生み出すことが期待されています。
名古屋大学では、このような博士人材育成に向けた抜本的改革の一つとして、これまでに類を見ない規模の「博士課程学生への総合支援パッケージ」をとりまとめました。
具体的には、博士前期課程から後期課程を通じて授業料免除を強化するとともに、博士後期課程学生の半数程度に生活費相当額の支援を実施します。そのほか、学生独自の自由な発想に基づく研究を奨励するための研究費支援や、学生が修了後社会で活躍できるようなスキルを涵養するキャリア教育の充実を図ります。
In order to break through the current stagnant situation in Japan, attention is focusing on doctoral students as a driving force for creating innovation and solving global social issues.
Nagoya University has compiled a "Comprehensive Support Package for Doctoral Students" on an unprecedented scale as part of a fundamental reform aimed at fostering such doctoral human resources.
Specifically, tuition waivers will be strengthened for both the first and second semesters of doctoral programs, and living expense support will be provided to about half of the students in the second semester of doctoral programs. In addition, we will support research expenses to encourage students to conduct research based on their own free ideas, and enhance career education to cultivate skills that will enable students to play an active role in society after graduation.
